Colin
Hendricks
Sharp and Orderly... sort of
Putting the cart in front of the horse is a common metaphor for
doing things in a backward manner. Consider: Colin loves and understands his
need for music so much he bought his first car stereo a year and a half before
he could drive. He promptly installed it in his friend's car. What the heck
kind of sense does that make?
"It sounded great," Colin says.
Not that anyone showed him how to put it in. Positive/Negative,
red/black, in/out -- it all just made sense to his mechanical mind. A year and
a half later, his friend bought the stereo and Colin pimped his own ride with
the latest and greatest equipment.
Understand it's not all about him -- it's the experience. In
fact it's not even one bit about him when he's out at your event. He knows the
ultimate importance of music in the social setting (in the above case a car; in
your case, your event). He also knows it better sound great. Lucky for you he's
got the mechanics to make it just so.
Add to that he's a performer at heart. He makes his way in
front of cameras whenever possible (though he promises to maintain a strict
50-foot rule in terms of any photos you have taken at your event). He also
dreams of acting. Truth be told, the pork sandwich has, on occasion, accused
him of being a ham. But don't let that scare you. All lunch meat aside, he
knows when to bask in the spotlight and when to reflect it to the crowd.
That much, at least, he has in the proper order.
