He's seen it all

Growing up in Brooklyn, as Brenden did, gives one a unique perspective. When you're raised with everything from John Lennon to the Mets within a burroughs reach, you may in fact believe you live in the center of the universe. There's rich tradition in everything in New York: food, art, sports -- are you talkin' to me? Are YOU talkin' to me?

Funny how time, distance and becoming a daddy can shift that center, though. As a left-coaster for the past nine years, some of that tradition has stayed with him and is being passed on to his daughters. Example? San Jose Sharks games. When the New York Rangers skate to town you best believe San Jose fans are down a few seats for Brendan and family. Don't worry, they slip on Sharks jerseys in the third period to slip out of the Tank unscathed.

There's something else New York breeds by necessity that Brendan has used to his advantage and his clients happiness: community. You've got over eight million reminders that you better learn how get along with people every day. That's part of where Bendan learned the value of relationships. Whether he's managing clients assets, spinning tunes at events or volunteering as a youth-league basketball coach, he takes it seriously.

Why? It's community. It's what you do when you believe in longevity, relationships and simply having fun. And if you don't, eh, fuhgettaboutit -- you won't make it in the Big Apple.
